Zigbee, NB-IOT, LoRa who will stand out

Referring to the short-range wireless communication technology in the Internet of Things, many people may think of Bluetooth and WiFi in the first place. But in fact, other technologies, including Zigbee, are growing at a faster rate and quickly occupying the market.
Since the beginning of the past few years, the domestic market has made a significant shift in the development attitude of Zigbee technology. More and more Chinese manufacturers have joined the Zigbee Alliance, including WULIAN, Huawei, and the United States, all of which have become members of the Zigbee Alliance.
Zigbee technology development accelerates China's market attitude has changed significantly.
The global Zigbee activation equipment market 2016-2020 report predicts that the global Zigbee activation equipment market will achieve a CAGR of 29.73% during 2016-2020.

At the same time, more and more Chinese companies are joining the Zigbee Alliance. For the Zigbee Alliance, this is a big change, because in the past most of this organization was dominated and participated by foreign manufacturers. In fact, the Zigbee Alliance has also set up a Chinese team, because the domestic market has found that Zigbee technology is becoming more and more important, and Chinese companies are increasingly participating in the development of Zigbee.
In the past, many domestic companies, Zigbee products were mostly exported to overseas markets, and most of them are now starting the domestic Zigbee project. It is understood that most of the Zigbee products in the domestic market now adopt ZHA or ZLL standards, and domestic manufacturers are particularly active, and have passed Zigbee 3.0 certification.
Bluetooth, WiFi, Zigbee and other technologies will continue to coexist
These short-range wireless transmission technologies, such as Bluetooth, Wifi and Zigbee, each have their own technical advantages, which play a role in the different applications of the Internet of Things, but their competition is unquestionable.
In the wireless arena, product strategies from different vendors may vary. The emergence of any wireless standard is due to market demand, and it is not out of the air. However, no single standard can meet all wireless application requirements, so multi-technology coexistence is a pattern that will not change in the short term.
Technologies such as Zigbee will complement NB-IoT and Lora.
Technologies such as Lora, NB-IoT, and Zigbee are complementary. They are different from each other. Lora and NB-IoT are aimed at ultra-long-distance applications and require operators to do docking. The operator itself has 2G network assets, which can make better use of the original network resources. However, in the home environment, the number of nodes and the time-dependent requirements are different from those of long-distance applications. The general home environment does not have such a long distance, and the number of nodes in the home environment is particularly large. Therefore, Zigbee will occupy a very important position in the home environment.
