OLT、ONU and ODN
OLT: optical line terminal, used to connect optical fiber trunk terminals.
ONU (Optical Network Unit) optical node.
A device equipped with an optical receiver including an optical receiver, an upstream optical transmitter, and multiple bridge amplifiers is generally called an optical node.
ONU function
1. Select to receive broadcast data sent by the OLT;
2. Respond to the ranging and power control commands issued by the OLT; and make corresponding adjustments;
3. The user's Ethernet data is buffered and sent in the upward direction in the transmission window allocated by the OLT.
ODN (optical distribution network) Optical distribution network is an FTTH optical cable network based on PON equipment. Its role is to provide an optical transmission channel between the OLT and the ONU. From the functional point of view, the ODN can be divided into four parts: the feeder line subsystem, the wiring system, the subscriber line cable subsystem and the fiber terminal subsystem.
